Nutrition Basics:
Antlers are made up of about 80% proteins during the growth season but mature antlers are 50% proteins and 50% minerals. Antlers contain 19% calcium, 10% phosphorus, 1% magnesium, and .5% sodium. Vitamins (A,D, and E) are also important and need to be supplemented during certain times of the year in order to maximize growth and health. Since deer are ruminants they can manufacture all the B-complex vitamins they need as long as trace elements are present in their diet.
Calcium - is absorbed through the small intestine and into the blood, combining with phosphorous to help harden crystal-like substances that create the latticework on which strong antler, bone and teeth are built.
Phosphorous - is needed for the deer's formation of antler, bone, and teeth. It is also important in many chemical reactions in the deer's body, including the ones that regulate the release of energy that fuels the body.
Potassium- is a crucial mineral that is very important in proper Ph balance and proper digestion and milk production. Along with sodium and chloride it helps form electrolytes which are critical in maintaining the proper level of body fluids.
Magnesium - Vital for making sure the calcium is used properly, which is crucial for sturdy teeth and bones. It helps turn food into energy and assists in transmission of electrical impulses across nerves and muscle.
Sodium - is a natural carrier for trace minerals. It plays an important role in nerve and heart functions. Salt is the main source of sodium in most diets and is the only mineral that animals crave.

The tubs are almost weather proof and will not lose nutrient potencies while being fed. Tubs should be fed during the antler growth season which is January to September. HOW TO USE
Placement is critical, because this product is not an attractant to bring deer in. DO NOT place this product in or near your food plot. We have found that consumption is best if you place the tub along a well used trail close to a heavily covered bedding area. Your deer will pass the tub going to and from your food plots. Consult your local game regulations before hunting over tubs.
